On September 16, 2010, the U.S. Department of Education held a listening session entitled the National Youth Listening Tour at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque, NM. Members of the community – including middle school, high school, and college age youth – came to share ideas in part to encourage education reform. KUNM Youth Radio Project’s Luke Iha interviews Alberto Retana, the Director of Community Outreach for the U.S. Department of Education. Retana discusses his outlook on the education crisis and his hopes for the future of our education system.
