This show discussed food justice, the occupation of Palestine, and the ongoing tragedy in Syria. We heard about the parallels between Palestine and New Mexico from Rodrigo Rodriguez, organizer and coordinator of SWOP’s community food justice initiative, Project Feed the Hood: International District Community Garden, who recently returned from a trip to the West Bank. Hazami Barmada, a Syrian-Palestinian human rights activist, also joined us to discuss her advocacy, as well as her involvement with the Peace and Hope Art Project.
