Generation Justice visited the Roundhouse on January 20th and spoke with youth from Deming, Peñasco, Española, Albuquerque, Isleta, and Truth or Consequences about the issues that are important to them during this year’s legislative session. Viviana Cruz, Sarah Faulkner, Kervin Candelaria, Cameron Mondragon, Jasmine Vigil, Isha Shura, Hope Alvarado, and Alyssa Lopez shared their thoughts with us. We also bring you the speeches of this year’s State of the Children and Youth Address, which were given by Janelle Astorga Ramos, Brittany Tsosie, and Kristoffer Sverigeson.
Also, on January 17th, Generation Justice attended the Martin Luther King Jr. March and Parade. Once the march reached Civic Plaza in Downtown Albuquerque, community members then had the opportunity to socialize, network, and listen to speeches. One of the speakers was Malik Barrios. We share his speech with you, plus a community calendar events, and some inspiring music.
