Creating Community Solutions for Mental Health [Blog] – Generation Justice

My name is Mohammed Jaber, and earlier this year I attended Creating Community Solutions for Mental Health. I came to find out some solutions to mental health issues and take photos and footage on behalf of Generation Justice and the Youth Health Literacy Project (#YHLP).

As soon as I walked through the doors of the building, I knew that this conference would be very productive and would teach me about some solutions to mental health. As I walked around taking photos, I sat down with some groups in the conference. I learned that many solutions for children are available, but not out in the open. I learned that from a woman who works for Albuquerque Public Schools. She told us that most schools in Albuquerque have mental health facilities, but people who need them often don’t go for help.

I thought that this conference was very knowledgeable and very useful. I hope there will be more conferences like this one, about a variety of different health issues, such as drugs and teen pregnancy. I give this conference a 10 out of 10 for teaching others about mental health solutions.
