Over 130 YouTube Stars Take a Stand Against the FCC’s Net Neutrality Repeal

July 12 is the Internet-Wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality, where tech giants and advocacy groups alike will be pressuring FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and members of Congress for trying to destroy the 2015 Open internet Order. This week, we’ve seen Youtube personalities and online video creators collaborate to stand up to the FCC. (via The Daily Dot)

The Pentagon Says It Will Start Encrypting Soldiers’ Emails Next Year

STARTTLS has been around for over 10 years, and is the basic way that plain text can be encrypted while traveling across the world wide web. Yesterday, we saw that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) will finally be implementing STARTTLS in this next year. Shout out to Senator Ron Wyden for calling the Pentagon out. Computer Scientists: Passwords Can be Acquired from Brain Waves

A new study shows that passwords can be pulled from your brain waves with a pretty high success rate. Computer scientists used electroencephalograph (EEG) headsets and password guessing algorithms to try and crack passwords and PINS on 12 research subjects. EEG headsets are increasingly used for both video games and medical equipment! (via Infosecurity Magazine )
