This week brings you the knowledge and passion from the “Indigenous Shifts of Resistance & Healing” Plenary that was held earlier this year during the MALCS 2015 Summer Institute. This was the first plenary this year at Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS) and featured some powerful speakers that created a dialogue to honor intersectionality and transformation in a safe and supportive space.
The speakers include Mattee Jim, from First Nations Community HealthSource and a Board Member of the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico; Radmilla Cody, an anti-domestic violence activist and organizer; shash yázhí, the Lead Consultant of Eagle Evolution; and Dr. Yolanda Teran Maigua, part of the Advisory Council for the IIA Indigenous Institute of the Americas. The discussion will be moderated by Renae Gray, Program Assistant and Trans* Inclusion Specialist at UNM Lgbtq Resource Center
