“Little Feet Walk Loud” Trailer [Video] – Generation Justice

Generation Justice attended the OYE (Organizing Youth Engagement) Conference held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 3rd, 2011. We had the opportunity to present "Little Feel Walk Loud," a workshop on early childhood development. After the workshop, we asked some youth their views on early childhood development. On Saturday April 9, 2011, Generation Justice spent the day at Tiguex Park for the 3rd Annual Kiwanis Early Childhood Resource Fair. The resource fair brought together government agencies, community organizations, and parents to stress the importance of early childhood development. In this video, folks talk about why they think early childhood is important and how it's connected to other issues in our community.

Cuidando Los Niños – New Mexico Campaign to End Child Homelessness – Everyday Democracy Strong Starts Initiative [Video] – Generation Justice

As part of the Strong Starts for Children Initiative, Cuidando Los Niños (on behalf of the New Mexico Campaign To End Child Homelesness) and the National Center on Family Homelessness are leading an effort to address the needs of homeless families by bringing together in dialogue and problem solving people who have experience homelessness, agencies, and community organizations in the South Valley and Southeast Heights neighborhoods of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County in New Mexico.

UNM Family Development Program – Everyday Democracy Strong Starts for Children Initiative [Video] – Generation Justice

As part of the Strong Starts for Children Initiative, the University of New Mexico Family Development Program (in collaboration with Decade of the Child, a statewide early childhood advocacy coalition) is involved with a project called "Launching the Decade of the Child: Strong Starts for our Children." This project is engaging traditionally marginalized people such as teen parents, immigrant populations, and incarcerated parents in areas of Albuquerque to talk and act together to support children's growth and development.
